WIAA Participation
A full-time student in a private school, alternative school or a certified educational clinic student
may participate on the interscholastic teams of his/her resident public school if the student
resides within the service area of that public school and if the interscholastic activity is
unavailable to the student in the private school or certified educational clinic. Students in a
private school, alternative school or certified educational clinic must meet the same team
responsibilities as public school team members and are obligated by the same standards of
behavior and performance as other members of the team.

School Credit
Students can receive school credit for athletics in different ways. One way is through online classes provided by Achieve Online. Another way is by participating as amateur and professional athletes. A third way is to take organized classes in their communities.
Community Vendors
Several community vendors provide instruction in the area of athletics, such as karate dojos and fitness centers. Achieve Online maintains a list of approved vendors who have completed background checks.
The Athlete's Schedule
Students who are involved in a sport or athletic area as their career include professional figure skaters, tennis players, snowboarding instructors, and more, including some Olympic hopefuls. Their schedules require greater flexibility in other areas of their life, including education. For this reason, these talented, highly motivated students find that Achieve Online is well adapted to their full and often changing schedule.
